Students under ESA-Association Urged to Remain United and Cooperative in Pursuit of Education

KISORO: Members of the Eastern Students Association (ESA) in Kisoro have been urged to unite and combat hunger among students at Metropolitan International University (MIU).

The message was delivered by Kalan Zadock, the outgoing chairperson of Eastern Fraternity, during the handover ceremony of the Eastern Fraternity Electoral Committee held at Homely Suites in Central Division, Kisoro Municipality.

Zadock emphasized the importance of sharing resources and supporting one another to save the lives of their comrades.

He encouraged students to adopt a saving scheme introduced by the association, which aims to provide security loans to pay school fees and buy food for survival.

The chairperson of the Eastern Fraternity Electoral Committee, Moses Tanda, called on students to remain united and cooperative as they pursue their studies.

Tanda noted that the recent elections were conducted smoothly, with no petitions filed, and announced that new elections would be held in January next year.

Kaziba Lordine, the chairperson of the Eastern Students Association (ESA), thanked the founders of the fraternity for creating a welcoming environment for students who do not speak local languages, like Rufumbira, Runyankole, and Rukiga.

Lordine pledged to encourage ESA members to become full members of Eastern Fraternity, enabling them to participate in all university activities.

The Eastern Students Association aims to promote unity and support among students, particularly those from the Eastern region, and to address challenges such as hunger and financial difficulties.
