Late delivery of Branding Materials disrupts the Census Enumeration Exercise in Kabale District.

KABALE: Census enumerators and their supervisors in Kabale District on Friday raised concerns over the late arrival of branding materials, which they said was hindering their efforts to gain trust from the public, during the ongoing 2024 National Population and Housing Census (NPHC) exercise.

The enumeration exercise commenced on Thursday night, and enumerators are expected to visit households across the country collecting data on population size, structure, and housing conditions.

However, speaking to this reporter on Friday, the enumerators from Kaharo and Kamugaguzi Sub Counties in Kabale said that Census Enumeration Branding Materials includingT-shirts, caps, and official identification cards were delayed to reach them.

They added that they received confirmation from the sub county chiefs that they will be given these items to help them convince people to cooperate with them as genuine enumerators since there could be fraudsters or impostors.

Responding to the Census enumerator’s worries, the Kabale District Communications Officer, Alex Byakatonda, acknowledged the delay in the delivery of branding materials in some parts within the district.

He appealed to the public to cooperate with enumerators emphasizing that they are genuine census officers, despite the lack of branding materials as there had been logistical challenges from UBOS with materials expected to arrive soon.
