Wife Stabbed to Death by Husband in Kasese District

Kasese, Uganda – A man in Kasese District has stabbed his wife to death after she returned from visiting her relatives and attempted to leave their matrimonial house.

The deceased has been identified as Masika Night Kihimba, who was allegedly murdered by her husband, Kyakwaire Sipiriano, 65, residing in Kakone I Village, Bwera sub-county, Kasese District.

Sources indicate that the incident occurred at approximately 1:30 pm on Monday in Kakone I Village, Bwera sub-county, after the deceased returned from Mughnese Cell, Nsenyi Ward, Kisinga Town Council, where she had gone to visit her relatives.

Moments after her return home, the husband noticed that the wife was preparing to leave. He locked all exit doors and stabbed her in the stomach with a sharp knife, causing her death.

The Rwenzori East Region-Kasese Police Spokesperson, Nelson Tumushime, confirmed the incident, stating that after the police were alerted, they swiftly swung into action, arresting the suspect (husband) and cordoning off the scene of the crime.

“Following the incident, our officers at Bwera Division were swiftly alerted and responded promptly, arresting the suspect (husband) and securing the crime scene. We are currently conducting investigations to determine the motive behind the murder,” said Nelson Tumushime.
