Uganda’s SWAT Team Returns Home with Trophies and Medals
Kigali, Rwanda – The Ugandan team participating in the SWAT challenge competition in Rwanda has returned home with two trophies and silver medals.
The two-day competition, which concluded on Thursday 30th January 2025, was held at the Counter Terrorism school in Mayange, Rwanda.
The event brought together elite police teams from eight countries, including Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia, Djibouti, Seychelles, and South Sudan.
Uganda’s team, comprising high-ranking officials such as State Minister for Internal Affairs Gen. Muhoozi and Deputy IGP James Ocaya, demonstrated exceptional skills and teamwork.
Other notable members of the Ugandan team included Director HRD AIGP Kafeero Moses, Director Interpol AIGP Joseph Obwona, Deputy Director CID, Deputy Director CT, and Deputy Director Forensic Services.
The competition aimed to enhance operational readiness and cooperation among security forces across the Eastern Africa region.
The successful conclusion of the SWAT challenge highlights the commitment of regional police units to promoting peace, security, and cooperation.
