Kampala, Uganda – The Uganda Police has warned of a growing number of Ugandans falling prey to cunning fake pastors and traditional healers who dupe victims out of millions.

This warning was confirmed by Uganda Police Spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke during the weekly press briefing on Monday at police headquarters.

ACP Rusoke revealed that preliminary investigations have uncovered a disturbing pattern where impostors pose as legitimate religious leaders during the day and transform into traditional healers at night. Their places of worship often double as traditional shrines.

When victims demand refunds, typically in the form of cash or physical property, these fake pastors and healers resort to intimidation and threats.

“Police have identified several suspects posing as pastors and traditional healers, and we plan to expose and prosecute them. We urge the public to exercise extreme caution and report any encounters with these deceitful individuals to the police immediately.” ACP Rusoke emphasized.

The police advisory serves as a warning to citizens to be vigilant and skeptical of individuals claiming to possess supernatural or divine powers.

By reporting suspicious activities, the public can help bring these perpetrators to justice and prevent further financial losses.
