Tragedy on Kampala-Bombo Road: 5 Dead, 21 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash

Kampala, Uganda – A devastating road crash involving nine motor vehicles and one motorcycle resulted in the loss of five lives and left 21 others injured.
The accident occurred along the Kampala-Bombo Road last night, March 5, 2025, after the driver of a Fuso Super Grande, UBK 769A, lost control while navigating a slope at Mayanja Valley.
The incident led to a collision with the other vehicles and motorcycle, all traveling in the same direction on the same road.
The collision instantly claimed the lives of five occupants in other vehicles, including: UBQ 745N T/Noah, UAY 704B T/Hiace, UAT 652K T/Hiace, UBD 829G T/Hiace, UAL 333C T/Corolla, UAV 026F T/Hiace, UBQ 062B T/Sienta, UBD 483N T/Hiace, One rider of motorcycle UES 773K Yamaha.
The 21 passengers in Toyota Hiaces were injured and rushed to Mulago Hospital for treatment, with the deceased’s bodies conveyed to Mulago City Mortuary.
Traffic Police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police, Michael Kananura confirmed the incident stating that the vehicles involved in the crash were towed to Kawempe Police Station for inspection as investigations into the incident commence.
He further urged all motorists to prioritize road safety by ensuring their vehicles are well-maintained, adhering to speed limits, and driving defensively to prevent such tragic incidents.
