The Rubanda District Woman MP’s Grandfather the late Elidad Kakombe, has been laid to rest.
RUBANDA: Thousands of mourners were yesterday gathered at Mareju, Murole Rubanda town council in Rubanda district, to bid farewell to the late Mzee Elidad Kakombe who passed away at the remarkable age of 105 and grandfather to the Rubanda district woman MP Hon Prossy Akampulira Begumisa Mbabazi.
Speaking at her grandfather’s send off, Hon Prosy Akampulira Begumisa Mbabazi highlighted her admirable qualities from the late explaining him as a peaceful, Loving and a hard working Parent of whose legacy will stay for years.
The Legislator further expressed gratitude to the gathering for standing with her during the challenging period, including political rivals who set aside political differences to offer support.
Hon Clare Mugumya (Isingiro district), Hon Pauline Kyaka (Lyantonde) and Hon Kamuntu Mwongyera (Rubanda West), both lauded the late accepting diverse religious beliefs within the family, advocating for unity and development without discrimination and emphasizing his capacity to love.
A ceremony Preceded over by Ven. Noah Kyooma of Nyaruhanga Archdeaconry was witnessed by a various dignitaries, including Hon Rt Captain Kahonda Donozio, Hon Kahonda Donozio, Hon Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, Religious leaders, and Political figures among others who paid their respects alongside the community, reflecting the profound impact of Mzee Elidad’s life.
Mzee Elidad Kakomb, a father of 30 children, saw the loss of 10 with his legacy living through his 122 grandchildren, 133 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
