The Kigezi diocesan SACCO Members told to embrace patriotism.

BUSINESS: The Kigezi diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna has encouraged the Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD (SACCO) Members to embrace patriotism as a fundamental principle for prosperity.

Bishop Akanjuna said this during the Diocese of Kigezi Based SACCO Annual General meeting (AGM) held today 20th April 2024 at Mother’s Union Hall within the Central division in Kabale municipality.

The Bishop who doubles as the patron of the Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD highlighted the Members Crucial role of the unwavering commitment in guaranteeing the success of the SACCO.

He emphasized the necessity for the members to embody genuine dedication and love for the SACCO’s mission, calling on the newly elected officials to prioritize the interests of the members they represent and to aspire for their SACCO to serve as a model for others.

The District Commercial Officer of Kabale District Mr. Natumanya Erasmus urged the SACCO Committee to develop a sound business idea aligned with market needs and to engage in thorough planning and budgeting practices to ensure the continuous development of the Institution.

Erasmus further charged members to commit to shared goals, action plans, and practices established by the board members and management, stating that for a SACCO to develop, it must have skilful management and a responsible board.

Rev. Can. Milton Nkurunungi, the Chairman of the Executive Committee, told members that they are planning to expand the SACCO, to start with relocating the main offices from their current location to midtown and opening branches for the convenience of delivering services to clients.

The Chairman of the Executive Committee, who also serves as the Diocesan Secretary called upon the Church Leaders and Heads of Institutions in archdeaconries to mobilize efforts aimed at increasing membership within the SACCO, thereby strengthening marketing channels and strategies.

The Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD (SACCO) was established in 2015 and currently boasts 1454 members with just a single branch.
