Security Forces Urged to Prioritize Human Rights and Dignity.

The Chief Political Commissar in the Uganda Police Force, AIGP Bamunoba Ubaldo has emphasized the importance of community policing in preventing crime and promoting a crime-free society.

Bamunoba was on Wednesday delivering a lecture of opportunity to senior UPDF, Uganda Police, ISO, ESO, WAZARENDO, Airforce and Prisons officers who are undergoing a two-month ideological orientation training course at the National Leadership Institute Kyankwanzi (NALI).

He said that the officers partning with the community is essential for effective crime prevention stressing of how the approach not only fosters trust but also encourages active citizen participation in maintaining law and order.

“Community policing is about building relationships, solving problems, and upholding human rights” said Bamunoba Ubaldo.

Bamunoba Ubaldo further told the officers that security forces must always emphasize human rights and dignity, even as they work to keep law and order.
