KAMPALA-UGANDA: The outgoing Uganda Police Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga bids farewell ahead of his new role as a new Deputy Director the Directorate of Interpol and International Relations in the Police force.

The new police appointments were made two days after a meeting between the new Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba and the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni at the state house.

According to the appointments, Senior Commissioner of Police (SCP) Fred Enanga, who has been police mouthpiece for over six years, will deputize Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Grace Akullo at the Interpol.

Speaking to the Media Enanga admitted that the position of Police Spokesperson, was one of his greatest honors thus appreciating God, for seeing him through over the years.

He further expresses his debt of gratitude to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Police Leadership, for the invaluable support, advice, great teamwork, confidence and trust that they placed under him.

“I must admit that the position of Police Spokesperson was one of the greatest honors of my life. Above all, I would like to thank the Almighty God, for his protection and guidance, during my tenure. And to further express my debt of gratitude to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Police Leadership, for the invaluable support, advice, great teamwork, confidence and trust that they placed in me. I have nothing but gratitude and look forward to your continuous guidance and support.” Said Fred Enanga.

A new Deputy Director the Directorate of Interpol and International Relations appreciated the entire public for their insights, criticisms and feedback that have always been refreshing and reminded them that safety is everyone’s priority thus urging for a continued commitment to working with the police.

SCP Fred Enanga was replaced with Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rusoke Kituuma who has been the Regional Police Commander Rwizi policing region who will be deputized by ACP Clare Nabakka who has been deputizing Enanga.

Other appointments include CP James Ruhweza who has been appointed deputy to the new director of Operations Services (OPS) SCP Frank Mwesigwa.

SCP Stephen Tanui who is Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander has been appointed deputy director Fire and Rescue Services and will be deputized by AIGP Fadhir Kamali who replaced AIGP Joseph Mugisa, whose contract wasn’t renewed.

CP Sarah Kibwika who has been commandant Professional Standards Unit (PSU) has been appointed Commissioner in charge Human Resources Management (HRM).
