Rwenzori East Region FC Clinches Thrilling 2-1 Win Over Hima Police FC

Kasese, Uganda – Rwenzori East Region FC secured a thrilling 2-1 win against Hima Police FC in a friendly match held at Hima Playground on Friday, February 7, 2025.

The match drew notable dignitaries, including Assistant RDC Busongora, Richard Nsengiyunva, and Mayor Hima Town Council Kato Wamono.

SP Piriyo Robert Harry and Asp Tumwine Godius scored for Rwenzori East Region FC, while PC Omutujju secured the only goal for Hima Police FC.

Piriyo’s winning goal broke a record, marking his first achievement since joining the Regional Police FC.

The Rwenzori East Region-Kasese Police Spokesperson, SP Nelson Tumushime, praised the match for showcasing impressive teamwork and sportsmanship from both teams.

SSP Muhumuza Alex, Deputy RPC for Rwenzori East Region-Kasese, was awarded for his outstanding performance as the best striker.

The top scorers of the match, SP Piriyo Robert Harry, Asp Tumwine Godius, and Police Constable Omutujju, each received a goat and a cash prize.

The event highlighted the growing football talent in the region, with both teams displaying remarkable teamwork and sportsmanship.
