Rwentobo-Rwahi Town Council Receives Aid After Devastating Downpour.
NTUNGAMO: Residents of Rwentobo-Rwahi town council in Ntungamo district have received relief items from the Office of the Prime Minister, after a devastating heavy downpour in September last year.
The compensation, which was distributed on January 20, 2025, was welcomed by the area MP, Hon Naome Kabashari, who praised the swift response from the Office of Disaster and Preparedness.
Kabashari acknowledged that her collaboration with the office facilitated the timely delivery of humanitarian aid, considering the high volume of disaster responses the office receives from various counties.
Mr. Edson Turyasingura, the mayor of Rwentobo-Rwahi town council, expressed gratitude for the government’s support, particularly its prompt action.
According to Turyasingura, the affected villages include: 205 households in Nyakashenshero, 129 households of Nyanga II and 92 households of Nyabugando I.
Others are 10 households of Nyakasa,107 households of Nyabugando II, 246 households of Kanyonga, 172 households of Katooma II.
Each beneficiary received 15 kgs of maize flour and 7 kgs of beans from the 20000 kgs of maize flour and 10000 kgs beans provided from the office of the Prime Minister.
