The Rukiga District Woman Mp Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi has offered to pay Church wedding fees for financially constrained couples in the Kihanga Archdeaconry under the Diocese of Kigezi.

Ms. Kamusiime made the announcement today at the ceremony to officially welcome Rev. Isaiah Arinaitwe who has been appointed as Parish Priest of Emmanuel Nyarurambi Church of Uganda. The Newly created Parish is located in Nyakahanga Village, Nyarurambi Parish, Rwamucucu Subcounty, Rukiga District.

She noted that she had been sponsoring wedding ceremonies in the District and the program had so far been a success, asking all Christians to embrace weddings as one way of sanctifying their marriages.

Ms. Kamusiime said she would not only offer to pay the wedding fees but also become the Maid of Honour (Matron) for the first wedding couple under this arrangement.

She also pledged to buy wedding cakes and a cow for slaughter at mass wedding parties in the Kihanga archdeaconry. She explained that she was doing all that as a means of giving back to the people of Rukiga District who have voted for her twice as their Woman Mp.

“All you need is to register with the Church, and the Archdeacon or Enzamba (LC.3 Chairman Rwamucucu Sub county) will notify me and we organize the parties,” Kamusiime said.

Relatedly, Kamusiime procured solar power equipment for installation onto the residential house of Emmanuel Nyarurambi C.O.U Parish Priest, as a welcome gift for the New Priest and his family. The package included all solar lights and a Flat T.V Screen.

In return, Rev. Isaiah Arinaitwe thanked Kamusiime for the generous support she gave to him and the Church. Rev. Arinaitwe pledged to pray for Kamusiime’s success in her Political undertakings.

“I will keep praying for you, since I know how much you people endure while seeking to become leaders, because I once contested and actually lost the election while in Senior six. I thought I had won because I had people behind me, but the results indicated the opposite,” Arinaitwe said, sending the congregation into laughter.
