Rukiga Police Arrest Three Suspects for Peruth Tumuraze Murder

RUKIGA: The territorial police in Rukiga have arrested three suspects allegedly for murdering a 47 years old woman.

The Deceased has been identified as Peruth Tumuraze a resident of Kateramabale cell, Kyogo parish, Kamwezi sub county in Rukiga district.

The three suspects in Police cells include; Ivan Bangirana the husband of the deceased, Keneth Muzoora and Geofrey Kemerwa both residents of the same above address.

It’s alleged that on Saturday 3th Aug 2024 Last weekend at around 4:00 PM Peruth Tumuraze (now deceased) disappeared from her home after she had domestic issues with her husband Ivan Bangirana (suspect).

The deceased’s Body was discovered by the locals on 8th Aug 2024 at around 07:30 AM in a banana plantation of Kemerwa Geoffrey which is about 800 metres from the home of the deceased.

The Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate said that the Police was alerted by Darius Asimwe, from which the Police visited the scene, processed and documented it and postmortem was done at Kamwezi health center four with the three suspects arrested to help in investigations.

Maate added that an exhibit of a panga was recovered at the scene with the body having 

bruises at the head and around the neck, plus 

 a deep dry wound at the back head. The Police Spokesperson further said that the Inquiries are ongoing with the incident registered at Rukiga Central Police Station on RKG CRB 294/2024.
