Retailer’s recording shortage on commodities obtained from the striking Wholesalers.
BUSINESS: As Leaders of striking Traders hope to meet the Uganda’s President Museveni today, Retailers from the Suburb areas of Nasana and Kawempe decisions have experienced a shortage of commodities they usually obtain from the whole sales within the central business districts.
Retailers who spoke to this reporter said that their business has gone slow since their clients who commute to and from the city have kept away because of the strike.
Some of the commodities they say they are experiencing their shortages include cooking Oil, White floor and Kari powder among others.
The streets within the central Kampala are now filled with street Vendors, Street Kids and other people standing by doing nothing as the shopping Mall remains closed.
Peter Mpagi a street Vendor said that they just bring their Merchandise to the streets to pass time, not that they are working as there are no people to buy with fears over their survival.
Abdallah Mubiru Businessman dealing in second hand clothes says that they are not selling anything as they are protesting against the introduction of Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution system.
Today Friday 19th April 2023 marks the fourth day since the traders went on a sit-down on Tuesday this week.
