Prison officers blended in spiritual growth mindset education.

KAMPALA – UGANDA: The 2024 Mind Education Programme by the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) under the Good News Mission has concluded successfully in Uganda Prisons Service (UPS).

The Mindset initiative was conducted by the South Korean youth and concluded with the awarding certificates of appreciation to the participants for the efforts put in lighting the prison personals on different approaches at their work.

Introduced in 2018 in the service, the program that includes mindset transformation activities, emotional resilience training, decision-making skills, and religious empowerment was this year held at the Uganda Prisons.

The Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons (DCGP) Mr. Samuel Akena, appreciated the efforts put under the initiative as it helps both the inmates and staff in develop positive attitudes, overcome challenges, and reconnect with their faith.

Akena bid farewell to the South Korean youth fellows at Prisons Headquarters, appreciating them for choosing Uganda Prison and acknowledging their voluntary service across all prison units.

The Chairperson International Youth Fellowship (IYF) in East Africa Rev. James Kim, highlighted the initiative role as it’s for unlocking potential and strengthening societal reintegration.

The Man of God added that the initiative has continued to make a lasting impact by blending mindset education with spiritual growth, demonstrating the value of international collaboration in rehabilitation.
