Rukiga, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has paid his respects to the late Apollo Nyegamahe, former Rukiga district NRM Chairperson.
Apollo Nyegamehe, a prominent Kampala-based business tycoon, tragically lost his life in a road accident on July 6, 2023, at Itojo Town Council, Ntungamo district.
The accident occurred along the Mbarara-Kabale highway when Nyegamehe’s Toyota Land Cruiser V8 collided with a parked Fuso truck loaded with Irish potatoes.
Apollo Nyegamehe aka Aponye was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kitaburaza village, Muhanga town council, Rukiga district.
President Museveni expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and laid a wreath in honor of Nyegamehe’s significant contributions to Uganda’s development. “I stand with you in this time of grief. Aponye was a great man with a good soul, leaving a lasting legacy,” Museveni said.
The president was accompanied by prominent Kigezi leaders, including Dr. Sylvia Alineitwe the Deputy National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Ministers Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, David Bahati, and Musasizi, among others.
