KAMPALA – UGANDA: The president of Uganda Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has appointed Hajat Sharifah Buzeki, and Mr. Benon Kigenyi as the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) bosses.

The appointment of the two was announced on Thursday by the Special Presidential Assistant – Press & Mobilization Mr.Faruk Kirunda via his official Twitter handle (X).

The authority has been without a substantive technical leader for some time now after the arrest of the then Executive Director Dorothy Kisaka and her deputy, David Luyimbazi.

The arrest of the two was linked to the ongoing investigations into the Kiteezi landfill tragedy that claimed the lives of over 30 people in the last months.

According to the Twit Faruk Kirunda the names of the new bosses KCCA have been forwarded to Public Service for formalization, and upon completed, the Head Public Service/Secretary to Cabinet will formally confirm the appointments.
