Police opens inquiry into death of an old man in Rubanda.
RUBANDA: Police in Rubanda district have launched an investigation surrounding the death of a 52 years old man who was discovered dead and was last seen by locals drunk.
The deceased has been identified as Byomugabe Narisensio a resident of Katungu cell Nyamiyaga ward Bubare Town council in Rubanda District.
Sources have it that on Tuesday 24th Dec 2024 at around 11:00 Pm, residents coming from Church by-passed at the Narisensio (the deceased), lying on the road while drunk and continued to their respective homes.
It was then at around 7:00 am the next day 25th Dec 2024 that one Madala a boda rider as he woke up saw a body of Narisensio lying near his house and informed other locals.
The Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed to this reporter, that the men in uniform were notified of the incident by Tibemanya Nyansio of the same residence from which it responded to the crime scene and documented it.
“The officers at Rubanda police station were notified of the incident by Tibemanya Nyansio a resident of Katungu cell Nyamiyaga ward Bubare Town council in Rubanda District from which the officers swung to the crime scene to investigate.” Maate noted.
Maate added that the police discovered that the deceased’s body had injuries on the Chest, the back and ribs on the left side were broken and proceeded to do the rest of the entire Postmortem process with the inquiries also at hand.
