Police Nabs 40 Year Old Man with Sub-Machine Gun.
KAMPALA: Old Kampala Police are holding a 40 years old suspect for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
The suspect has been identified as Tumwine David alias Busoni, a resident of Mubuteraniro Village within the District of Mubende.
According to Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police Luke Owoyesigire the suspect was intercepted today, at a round 9:00am at the Kisenyi Bus Terminal in Kampala Central Division.
Owoyesigire said that the suspect was intercepted during a search by the the terminal’s security team which promptly pursued and apprehended him.
The police Spokesperson added that upon inspecting suspect’s bags, several items including a sub-machine gun (SMG), live rounds of ammunition, magazines, pangas, a bottle of petrol and Ropes were discovered.
“The suspect was intercepted during a search by the the terminal’s security team and promptly pursued and apprehended him. The Police was instantly notified, and the suspect is now in our custody at Old Kampala Police Station” Luke Owoyesigire noted.
Luke Owoyesigire commend the vigilance exhibited by the security personnel at Kisenyi Bus Terminal and pledged further updates as investigations progress.
