People urged to embrace a saving culture and stop unnecessary spending.
SHEEMA: The Chairman Board of Directors Genesis SACCO Mr. Bosco Turyamureeba has encouraged people to maximize their expenditure and embrace a savings culture if they are to develop in the Current era.
The Chairman Board was speaking during the distribution of Christmas Hampers to the esteemed members and customers of Genesis SACCO an event held yesterday Monday at the main office in Masheruka Town Council. Sheema district.
The gifts distributed to 1790 best performing members of the Genesis SACCO include Goats, a cow, Hens, School bags, Sodas among others.
Mr.Turyamureeba, noted that it’s unfortunate that some people spend more than what they earn with this habit continuously hindering the development of communities and the whole at large, thus urging citizens to develop a proper accountability of their earnings.
“It’s very unfortunate that some Ugandans opt to spend more than what they earn, this has seriously hindered our development in our Communities. We have to charge this habit and develop a savings culture.” Turyamureeba Noted.
The Genesis SACCO General Manager Mr. Derick Kasigeire, tasked Members to always visit their offices in case they needed clarification about certain issues about their SACCO and urged them to spend wisely during the festival.
Kasigeire further stated that the culture of the SACCO Giving back to its members, is intended to give them morale and appreciate their continued support and trust and assured members of continued cooperation and transparency in finance management.
“The aim of giving these assortments to our clients is to appreciate their continued support, trust and efforts they put towards the development of our institution. I just want to urge our members to always visit offices in case they need to understand things regarding their SACCO’s performance.” Said Derick Kasigeire.
Among the beneficiaries include one Mr. Nicolas Mwene Balikitaari who went home with a for leg cow and in his words commended their SACCO Management for always reminding Members and the entire Community on the importance of saving.
Nicolas Mwene Balikitaari confirmed to this reporter that he has spent over 10 years saving with Genesis SACCO and has achieved many, including the improving of his business, buying of lands and paying school fees dues for his children just by acquiring loans from the SACCO.
