Over UgX 230 Million Raised at the 2024 Rubanda Deanery BAAF Ceremony.

Christians of Rubanda Deanery under the Kabale Diocese have raised a total sum of Ug. Shs.232,125,300 in both cash and pledges to support the 2024 Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund – BAFF.

The amount collected today at Rubanda Catholic Parish, was announced by the Rubanda District LC.5 Chairman Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba who represented the Chief Guest and State Minister of Finance Henry Musasizi Ariganyira.

In his remarks read by Mr. Kasyaba, Musasizi who is also the Rubanda East Legislator hailed Bishop of the Kabale Diocese Rt. Rev. Bishop Callistus Rubaramira for championing programs that foster development with in the Kigezi region.

Minister Musasizi contributed Shs. 30 Million to the 2024 BAAF program that is aimed at completing a commercial building owned by the Diocese in Kabale town. The 2024 BAAF seeks to raise Shs 1.5 billion for completion of the project.

Chairman Kasyaba also contributed Shs. 1 million plus shs. 200,000 for each parish in the Rubanda Deanery.

Through Kasyaba, Minister Musasizi also rvealed that he had held a meeting with the Minister of Education and Sports Janet kataha Museveni to discuss the establishment of the first Rubanda District Technical Institute whose paper work is in the final stages.  

He also encouraged Christians to continue participating in Government wealth creation and poverty alleviation programs such as Parish Development Model and Emyooga program

Bishop Callistus Rubaramira Speaking at Rubanda Deanery BAAF 2024

Rt. Rev. Callistus Rubaramira challenged Christians to increase efforts in income generation at household level. He advised parents to encourage their children to participate in commercial projects at home by giving them land for agriculture.

Bishop Rubaramira also took a swipe at men who marry.  more than one woman despite economic challenges they are facing. He asked them to use the money on productive ventures instead of multiple marriages.

“It’s unfortunate that some men are thinking of marrying more women whenever they get some money. Please use that money to make more money and develop yourself and your family,” he said.

Other Dignitaries at today’s BAFF Ceremony were; Rubanda West Mp Moses Kamuntu, Rubanda District Woman Mp Prossy Mbabazi Akampurira, Rubanda District Woman Mp Aspirants Jacqueline Katabazi and Evelyn Kikafunda, among others.
