Kampala, Uganda – The National Unity Platform (NUP) Party Women’s League has expressed deep concern over the prolonged detention of Dr. Kizza Besigye and other political prisoners.
Despite the Supreme Court’s judgment nullifying civilians Undergoing trials in military courts, these individuals remain in detention.
The Women’s League emphasized the need for immediate implementation of the Supreme Court’s judgment, calling for the release of the detained individuals.

The League’s concerns were voiced during a press conference held at their headquarters in Makerere Kavule, where they also discussed other pressing national issues.
To amplify their demands, the league resolved to petition Parliament, seeking their intervention in ensuring the judgment is enforced.
The Women’s League’s efforts aim to bring attention to the plight of political prisoners and push for their timely release.
