Northerners, to use Karuma Bridge route during Christmas Festival.
KIRYANDONGO: The rehabilitated Karuma Bridge to opened for light traffic testing on 17 Dec 2024 with the fully accessible permission to all vehicles, including trucks and buses, commencing 20 Dec 2024.
This was announced by the State Minister of Works and Transport, Musa Ecweru, after the inspection at the ongoing bridge works on Saturday morning.
The Contractors at the Bridge recently announced significant progress in the repair works with the project seated at 80% , with light traffic expected to resume.
The State Minister of Works and Transport appreciated valuable work so far done by the Engineers and confirmed the progress at the vital link along the Kampala – Gulu highway, connecting Northern Uganda to the rest of the country.
“I want to appreciate the government’s commitment in restoring the conference of travelers, I can affirm that those intending to travel to celebrate Christmas to different destinations shall officially use this rout” Said Min. Musa Ecweru.
