Muko Village Vice Chairperson Survives Vicious Attack, Suspect Arrested

Kisoro, Uganda – Police in Nyabwisheya Sub-county, Kisoro District, have arrested Nsabimana Emmanuel, alias Baragayana, for attempting to murder Erastus Sebikere, the vice chairperson of Muko village.

The incident occurred on Thursday at around 7:30 pm near Beyiresi trading center, as Sebikere was heading home.

Nsabimana allegedly attacked Sebikere, who sustained head injuries and was rushed to a nearby clinic.

Two individuals, Sunday Banegura and Munyamana Richard, intervened and rescued Sebikere from further harm.

Following the incident, Sebikere reported the matter to the Nyabwisheya police station.

Notably, Sebikere stated that he had no prior conflicts with Nsabimana, who has a history of disputes within the community.”I had no prior conflicts with Nsabimana,” Sebikere Confirmed.

The LC1 Chairperson of Muko village, David Surwumwe, confirmed the incident, revealing that his son Nsabimana attacked Sebikere, accusing him of poor judgment in handling village cases.”My son attacked Sebikere, accusing him of poor judgment,” Surwumwe noted.

The Chairperson urged the police and courts to punish his son severely, serving as a lesson to others who might commit similar immoral acts.
