KISORO: Metropolitan International University Kisoro Students Association (MIUKISA) has been urged to create agricultural projects to combat unemployment in Uganda.

This call was made by Dr. Leo Mfitimana during the handover and launch of a poultry project at Mubano Hotel in Kisoro Municipality.

The project aims to boost the association’s initiatives and offer financial support to students with outstanding school fees.

Gad Nizeyimana, the university’s guild president, praised the members for developing a savings scheme and poultry projects that have benefited not only the Bafumbira community but also other associations.

Nizeyimana encouraged members to continue saving and supporting the association.

The event was also attended by Dusabe Evarist, a social worker representing the Bufumbira South Member of Parliament.

This initiative is part of a larger effort to promote agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship among young people in Uganda.

Similar projects have been launched in other parts of the country, like the Markets for Youth program, which aims to empower 300,000 young Ugandans through agricultural training and financial support.
