Kampala Uganda – Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Diane Atwine has called upon religious leaders to join the fight against malaria.
She urged them to raise awareness and dispel misconceptions about malaria vaccines while engaging with religious leaders on the introduction of the malaria vaccine.
Dr. Atwine emphasized the importance of prioritizing well-being alongside economic empowerment. “Science providing health solutions is within God’s will, so let’s embrace vaccination!” she said.

Notably, Uganda has expanded its immunization program from 6 to 14 diseases, providing greater protection for its citizens.
This move is part of a broader effort to combat malaria, which remains a significant public health concern.
By engaging religious leaders, the Ministry of Health aims to leverage their influence to promote positive behavior change and increase community engagement in malaria prevention efforts.
