Ministry of Finance Presents Supplementary Expenditure Schedule to Parliament.

NATIONAL: Minister of State for General Duties Henry Musasizi accompanied by Minister of State for Planning Amos Lugoloobi have presented the supplementary expenditure schedule No. 1 for FY 2024/25 to the Budget Committee of Parliament.

The supplementary expenditure totals Shs 1.051 trillion, accounting for 1.46% of the approved budget for FY 2024/25.

According to Minister Musasizi the Key drivers of this supplementary expenditure include the Re-voting of Funds including World Bank-funded projects, specifically the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) and the Uganda Intergovernmental Fiscal Transfer (UGIFT).

He also explained that Government needed to cater for Wage and Salary Shortfalls rising from revalidation by the Ministry of Public Service after a special audit of payroll by the Office of the Auditor General.

Other expenditure areas include Critical Government Policy Commitments which involve anti-cattle rustling initiatives in North and North Eastern Uganda, implementation of Rationalization of Agencies (RAPEX), peace, and security efforts.

The Minister further stated that the supplementary expenditure will be funded through a combination of tax revenue and external financing.
