Meat Dispute Turns Deadly; 17-Year-Old Son Kills Father in Kisoro
Kisoro, Uganda – A son in Kisoro district has ended the life of his biological father in an incident that occurred on Sunday, February 2, 2025, following a domestic dispute over meat.
The deceased has been identified as Nsenga John, 64, a resident of Kinanira cell, Central ward, Mupaka town council, Kisoro district, who was allegedly murdered by his 17-year-old son, Ntwari Jay.
According to reports, Nsenga John had visitors on Saturday, February 1, 2025, and bought 1.5 kilograms of meat, which was consumed.
The next day, his wife, Niringiyimana Brandinah, cooked beans, Irish potatoes, and matooke, but Nsenga John refused to eat, demanding meat instead.
The situation escalated, with Nsenga John attacking his son with a panga, injuring him on the ear.
In self-defense, Ntwari Jay picked a stick and hit his father on the head, leading to a fatal injury.
The Kigezi Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, confirmed the incident and said that Nsenga John reported the incident to the Mupaka border police post.
Maate added that John later collapsed on the way to Kinanira Health Centre III and was later pronounced dead at Mutolere Hospital.
