Man dies in Elephant Teror attack in Kasese.
KASESE: Police in Kasese are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 47 year old man who allegedly was attacked and Killed by a Solitaire Elephant while sleeping in his House.
The deceased has been identified as Bembale Elias lost his life in an accident that occurred on Sunday around Kanyangeya Ward, Nyamwamba Division in Kasese Municipality.
The Rwenzori East Region -Kasese Police Spokesperson SP Nelson Tumushime confirmed to this reporter that the wife of the deceased made an alarm after the incident which alerted the locals to the scene.
Nelson added that the police at Kasese CPS were notified, responded to the scene and transported the victim to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital for Medical Care where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The incident follows other attacks including a heard of Elephants that attacked and killed Kiiza Emmanuel 34 who was manning a rice garden in Hima Division, Busongora North Constituency on 10th January 2025.
In 2023 another Elephant attacked and claimed the life of Mugisha Yoram 33 of Hima Division in around Busongora North Constituency and in 2022, Tadeo Tumwesigye 27 resident of Karusandara Sub-county was also killed by Elephant.
