Lower Local Council Chairpersons to register all Residents in Kabale Municipality.

KABALE: Authorities in Kabale Municipality have resolved to have all the locals Registered at the Local Council offices in a way of eliminating criminals from the communities.

This decision was made during a security meeting yesterday Tuesday at Kabale Municipal Hall, chaired by Kabale Resident District Commissioner Geoffrey Nyakahuma. 

During the meeting it was put to light that there’s an increase on Crimes within Kabale Municipality committed by both known and unknown individuals.

Some of the Criminal hideout hotspot areas within the Municipality were identified in the meeting as Babukika Road, Kabale Roundabout, Opposite Kabale Municipality H/Quarters shortcut Kabale Regional Referral Hospital, behind Numba Hotel among others.

The RDC Kabale, Geoffrey Nyakahuma pledged his collaboration with all the security agencies to address concerns and urged locals to provide information to apprehend criminals. 

He charged the police to always work closely with the local Council offices, engaging them in all security operations within their cells like sharing information, patrols among others.

Attending the meeting the 2nd Infantry Division Mbarara and the Kigezi Regional Police Commander, Brig. Gen. Paul Muhanguzi called for vigilance among Local Councils and the public in supporting the security enforcement teams in eliminating criminals within the area.

The meeting was attended by the LC I Chairpersons who include; Arineitwe Wilkens (Central East), Kyomuhendo Betty (Hospital Cell), Tumwesigye Narisi (Rwamukundi Cell and Southern Division), Byaruhanga Salongo (Rutooma Cell) and among others.
