NEWS: The South Ankole Diocesan Bishop Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe has encouraged parents to always lay their hands to bless and pray for their children.

Bishop Nathan Ahimbisibwe was officiating at the ordination and instalment of Ven. Rev. Fred Gumisiriza-Karengo as the first Archdeacon of Nyakyera archdeaconry.

Accompanied by his spouse Mama Lilian Ahimbisibwe the Bishop said that the parents should not always wait for the priests to bless their children because parent’s blessings are so important to a growing generation.

He further urged the entire Christians to work closely with their Archdeacon for the betterment and development of their new archdeaconry.

In his remarks Ven. Rev. Fred Gumisiriza-Karengo pledged to spearhead developmental projects within the new archdeaconry following the theme of the Diocese based on development.

In the service over 200 believers were confirmed in the Anglican faith.

In attendance was the Ntungamo District Speaker Rt. Hon. Nicholas Twikirize, Nyakyera town council LC V Councilor Hon. Lasto Mutanyomwa, Mayor Nyakyera Town Council His Warship Kenneth Nganwa, the RDC Kiruhura District Mr. George Bakunda among others.
