KANUNGU: Councilor Esther Majambere has donated 700 brand new mattresses to first-grade achievers in the recent PLE examinations and people with disabilities in Kanungu District.

The mattresses, transported by a Rosefoam (Royikems Industries Ltd) brand truck, were received at Majambere’s home in Bugongo Village, Nyakatunguru ward, Kihihi Town Council over the last weekend.

Majambere expressed her intention to motivate not only the top-performing students but also those in lower classes and ongoing students, a practice she has been committed to in the past.

She added that the remaining mattresses will be distributed among people with disabilities (PWDs) in the district.

This generous donation comes on the heels of the recent Uganda Leaving Examination (PLE) 2024 results, where Kanungu District proudly achieved 537 students receiving grade one.

All of these high-achieving students are expected to receive a mattress each as a token of appreciation for their hard work.
