Kabale Municipality D/Mayor Kedres Mutabazi calls on the Public to maintain cleanliness in Preparation for City Status.
KABALE: The Deputy Mayor Kabale Municipality Ms. Kedres Mutabazi, has encouraged residents to maintain cleanliness as the Town Prepares for City Status.
Kedres Mutabazi was addressing people during a cleaning exercise on Tuesday organized by gospel Artist Judith Orishaba in collaboration with the Kabale Municipal Council and the Uganda Police.
The participants included pupils, students and school stakeholders from Kabale Junior School, Solberg College Kabale, Addi Girls Outreach Centre, and the Municipal and District leaders.
D/Mayor Ms. Mutabazi emphasized the importance of proper waste disposal, particularly avoiding dumping plastic materials and polythene papers in the town’s rivers and other public places.
She noted that despite a municipal council resolution mandating proper waste management, residents have not fully complied.
“Cleanliness is next to godliness. I want to thank our Daughter Judith Orishaba and her partners for their efforts in maintaining the town’s cleanliness, this is connected to our Council resolution to clean the town every Wednesday of the week.” said Kedres Mutabazi.
The Aspiring 2026-2031 Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament also the founder of the Hallelujah Counselling Centre Hon. Enid Origumisiriza Atuheire also participated in the cleaning event.
Origumisiriza reiterated the importance of cleanliness in achieving City Status and called on the community to join hands in keeping the Environment Clean.
The Event organizer and a gospel artist Judith Orishaba appriciated the Uganda Police and other groups for the support towards the event.
Orishaba stressed the dual mission of preaching the word of God and promoting good health among the communities and the entire general cleanliness.
The Cleaning Excise was aimed at preparing for Orishaba’s upcoming concert, titled “SEASON ZIRAHINDUKA” scheduled for 11th Aug 2024 at Kirigime Guest House.
