Hon. Rosemary Nyakikongoro charges communities on Good health.
SHEEMA: As Sheema District gears to hold its women day celebrations today Friday, the district woman MP Hon. Rosemary Nyakikongoro joined Local Leaders, Technical staff and the residents to inspect cleanliness in Families.
An inspection activity aimed at improving Good health in the community was carried out in around Kasana Sub County and the found clean family will be awarded at the women day celebrations that is slated to be held at Kihara Primary school playground.
Speaking to this reporter after the activity Hon. Nyakikongoro said that people should stop thinking that rich families are the ones that can maintain smartness but rather use their available resources to maintain cleanness in their families.
The Legislator added that their focus is on uplifting good health among the communities so that the communities can develop without spending much on treating diseases that can be avoided.
The Sheema District Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mrs. Purikeria Mwine Muhindo told this reporter they are going to continue carrying out operations aimed at promoting cleanliness in families.
She called upon men to join hands with their wives to develop their families, and also engage in government programs like Parish development Modal (PDM), Emyooga among others.
Mary Asiimwe, one of the inspected residents, told our reporter that even with her small income generated from farming, she’s been able to keep her family clean.
