Kasese, Uganda – Twenty suspects have been arrested by Hima division police on charges of inciting violence while armed with harmful weapons.
The suspects, equipped with hoes, pangas, and sticks, allegedly trespassed on the Basongora Cattle Keeps with the intention of causing harm.
According to SP Nelson Tumushime, Rwenzori East Region-Kasese Police Spokesperson, DPC SP Suzan Nerima Bwire and her team responded swiftly to the crime scene, taking charge of the matter.
The case is being treated with urgency, and the suspects are set to appear in court on Monday, February 17, 2025.
In a related development, the regional police have launched operations to root out criminal gangs terrorizing the area.
