Health workers urged to incorporate mind set change messages.
NTUNGAMO: The mayor Ntungamo municipality Jacob Kafureeka has urged health workers to incorporate mind set change messages in health care as the only way to have positive change into the community.
Kafureeka alias Jack Jex noted that this will increase patients awareness on health care services instead of declined to visit health facilities.
While officiating at the inceptions meeting of pediatric HIV/AIDS / TB and Malaria project held at Ntungamo Resort hotel Ntungamo municipality, he warned young people against promiscuity which has accelerated teenage pregnancy in the district.
The six months project is funded by The AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) Global fund through Mayanja Memorial health foundation Mbarara and implemented by Support Disabled Uganda ( SDU).
The programs manager Support Disabled Uganda Nsabima Livingston noted that the meeting resolved to rejuvenation of the Municipal AIDS Committee( MAC) and commiting 0.01% sectoral budget to AIDS response.
He revealed that the project is aimed at reducing new HIV infections among Adolescent Girls and Young women and their sexual partners in Ntungamo municipality.
The programs manager Mayanja Memorial hospital foundation Mbarara Timothy Tibamanya indebted the work done by the Support Disabled Uganda and assured them of support towards the HIV/AIDs activities in Ntungamo district.
The district health educator Twesigye Nesterio asked the government to supply HIV ART clinic and TB isolation room to handle many people clients since some fear to talk to health workers in open places.
He said that the district is committed to support SDU for sustainable development in the district.
