KISORO: A section of School Heads in Kisoro District have expressed mixed reactions over new government policy, calling on head teachers to enroll their Biological children in schools they work on.

In an announcement issued last week by the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, head teachers in Uganda will be required to enroll their children in the schools where they work to improve Education quality.

The Premier further issued a warning to school heads that they may be at risk of losing their Jobs, if spotted sending their children to other schools.

Robinah Nabbanja added that the policy is aimed at ensuring that the head teachers invest in the same education.

The Headmistress of Sesseme Girls’ secondary school Mrs. Peace Ruzaza said that the idea would have been the better one if all schools were in the same standards as some lack equipped laboratories, libraries, computers, staff quarters and staff.

She added that when children study from far away, they stand a chance to gain exposure opportunities and self-esteem, making their after school life easy especially during their working days.

Baker Samuel Munyantwari the headteacher of Sesseme primary school said that the policy is good as it will bring motivation and improvement in Learners performance.

He added that a number of School heads never put much effort into improving their school standards knowing that their young ones are in better schools, urging that if the policy is well implemented everything will go well academically.
