Government to Support Learners who undertake vocational Courses in Uganda
NEW: The government is under way to establish a single supporting channel of Supporting Learners undertaking vocational education in the country.
This was revealed by the state minister for information Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku while passing out 700 vocational learners at Light College and Vocational School Bulenga.
The Minister said that the President has put more emphasis on Vocational training by introducing the Presidential Industrial Hub, which are mainly vocational centers, receiving people with or without education background.
Hon. Kabbyanga Godfrey added that they are engaged in different discussions to whether the government provides Learners with the tool Kits or establish common user facilities, for learners who have studied under this program to start up business enterprises.
“President has put a lot of emphasis on Vocational trainings that’s why he started industrial hubs, they are mainly Vocational centers, even those who didn’t go to school should be trained and we are discussing as the government either when those people complete we give them tool Kits or we build common user facilities, like when you finish you go there do your things and take to the shop” said Godfrey Baluku Kabbyanga.
The Ambassador Global Peace Foundation Mr. Kambula Milton said the government’s move of skilling the young generation will help the country to join the industrial arena of making its own products like cars, phones, Chairs among others.
Since 2020 the Ministry of education and sports has been reviewing the curriculum for technical and Vocational training education in a way of making the syllabus driven by labor Market demands.
