Esther Majambere Champions HIV/AIDS Prevention and Nutrition in Kanungu

Kanungu, Uganda – Aspiring Kanungu District Woman Member of Parliament, Counsel Esther Majambere, has launched a campaign to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in Kanungu district.
The hopeful legislator, through her foundation “Kinkizi Work Together Foundation,” made the plea on Thursday at the opening of a medical camp at Rutanga Sub County-based facility Rutanga HC III.
The initiative comes in response to the American government’s decision to stop health assistance through USAID, which previously provided medicines to HIV/AIDS patients.

Counsel Majambere emphasized the importance of HIV/AIDS prevention, citing potential drug shortages in hospitals following the US ban.
She encouraged people to take necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus, allowing the country to focus on caring for current patients rather than increasing their numbers.
“We are likely to face potential drug shortages in facilities following America’s ban on HIV/AIDS drug supply. So I want to encourage people to consider prevention more crucial than ever,” Counsel Majambere emphasized.

Proper nutrition was also highlighted as crucial, with Counsel Majambere encouraging people to consume nutritious food, such as beans rich in proteins.
The Kinkizi Work Together Foundation has held several health camps, benefiting over 700 people, with services including dental care, laboratory tests, general medicine, and circumcision.
The foundation advocates for a quality life for all, emphasizing the importance of both good health and good nutrition in achieving this goal.
