Wakiso, Uganda – The Uganda District Council Speakers’ Association (UDICOSA) convened its Annual General Meeting this week Wakiso District, bringing together district speakers from across the country.

Ugandan Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Among, graced the event as the Chief Guest, commending the speakers for their vital role in governance.

Speaker Among praised the speakers for their dedication and hard work, acknowledging the challenges they face in their roles.

She pledged to address the concerns raised by the speakers regarding obstacles to their work, ensuring they receive necessary support to excel.

The Speaker of Parliament also urged district speakers to be exemplary and role models to the communities they serve, emphasizing the importance of leadership and accountability at the local level.

UDICOSA, an affiliate organization of the Uganda Local Governments Association (ULGA), provides a platform for district speakers to share experiences, address common challenges, and advocate for their communities’ needs.

The Annual General Meeting served as an opportunity for district speakers to reflect on their progress, discuss ways to improve governance, and reaffirm their commitment to serving their communities.
