Sheema, Uganda – Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, paid a nostalgic visit to his alma mater, Nganwa High School in Sheema Municipality, on Thursday.

Accompanied by colleague MP Rosemary Nyakikongoro and Hon Dickson Kateshumbwa, Tayebwa was warmly welcomed by head teacher Rev. James Hannington Tumwesigye.

During his visit, Tayebwa was pleased to hear about the school’s impressive performance in the 2024 UCE exams and its growing student population, a significant turnaround from the school’s past challenges.

As a former Head Boy, Tayebwa encouraged students to take pride in their school, emphasizing that its reputation reflects on them individually.

Tayebwa pledged to collaborate with stakeholders to support the school’s infrastructure development.

“I encourage you, students, to take pride in this school, for its reputation is a reflection of your individual character. I pledge to work with stakeholders to support the development of our school’s infrastructure, empowering you to reach your full potential,” Thomas Tayebwa said.

This commitment is characteristic of Tayebwa’s philanthropic efforts, having sponsored over 74 vulnerable children’s education, with 27 pursuing medical careers.

The visit serves as a testament to his commitment to giving back to his community and supporting the next generation of leaders.
