Can. Milton Nkurunungi emphasizes Collaboration among the Kigezi Diocesan Schools.

KABALE: The Kigezi Diocesan Secretary Canon Milton Nkurunungi, has emphasized the importance of cooperation among educationists within the Diocese.

He said this during a meeting with the head teachers of primary schools created under the Diocese, at the 2024 Kigezi Diocese Pre-Mock Exams results release.

The event was held on Friday at St. Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama Hill grounds, Northern Division, Kabale Municipality in Kabale District.

Can. Nkurunungi said that the collaboration among the schools will help to improve the performance in the diocesan owned institutions in achieving a similar academic success.

“Promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing, creates a supportive environment and it will improve our schools in the diocese. I believe that collaboration is key to driving educational excellence and improving overall student’s outcomes” said Can Milton Nkurunungi.

The Education Coordinator of Kigezi Diocese Mr. Drake Mutahakana, said that the education department usually administers P7 Pre-Mock at the end of the 1st Term to assess pupils’ progress.

He added that the exams for this year were well done compared to previous years Exams thus urging the school heads to put more effort in this year’s teachings for an improved performance at the end of this year.

The Chairman of the Diocesan academics Mr. Mbabazi Andrew, reported that a total of 4,692 pupils registered for the pre-mock exams this year with only 4,650 pupils sitting including 2 visually impaired candidates of Hornby High School Junior. 

Andrew Mbabazi said that the results indicated that 77 pupils scored in division one, 683 in division two, 463 in division three, 1,028 in division four, 2,284 in grade U, while 64 pupils had no grade.

Kigezi Diocese has 192 schools of which 6 operate as the Diocese private Primary schools the rest being the government aided schools.
