Bishop Rubaramira Emphasizes Need for Prayer and Support for Priests in Kabale Diocese

KABALE: The Bishop of Kabale Diocese Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has called upon Christians to pray for priests, support them in overcoming temptations and fulfilling their priestly ministries.

The Bishop Rubaramira made remarks on Last Sunday at Kyanamira Primary School playground in Kabale district during the thanksgiving Mass for the 37th Priestly Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Balthazar Ndyomugabe, the Chaplain of Nyakibale Hospital.

He emphasized that regardless of the number of years in service, priests still need God’s gifts of the Holy Spirit to guide them daily, helping them stay in the light of God and fulfill their vocation.

While preaching at the anniversary Mass, the Vicar General of Kabale Diocese, Msgr. John Vianney Sunday appriciated Rev. Fr. Ndyomugabe for his generosity, a caring heart for others and willingness to share what he has.

Msgr. John Vianney added that every impossibility when put before God with faith and trust, becomes possible noting that the greatest wealth is a good heart willing to give others.

Speaking as the  Chief Guest at the fanction, the Deputy Director of Internal Security Organization (ISO), Col Emmanuel Katabaazi, thanked Rev. Fr. Ndyomugabe for his tireless efforts in spreading the Gospel among the believers without segregation.

Rev. Fr. Balthazar Ndyomugabe the Patron of the Peace and Justice Movement in Kabale Diocese expressed his gratitude to Bishop Rubaramira for taking good care of priests physical and spiritual lives, which has enabled them to serve God diligently.

Rev. Fr. Ndyomugabe also appreciated the Emeritus Bishops of the Diocese, including the late Barnabas Halemimana, who ordained him as a priest in 1987, and Bishop Robert Marie Gay the Bishop Rubaramira’s predecessor.

The 37th Priestly Anniversary thanksgiving Mass focused at raising funds to complete the House of Priests at Kyanamira Catholic Center, which is set to be inaugurated as a Catholic Parish from Rushoroza Cathedral Parish.

A total of 45,180,000 UGX was collected in cash and pledges, along with building materials such as cement, sand, and jerry cans of paint among others.
