Aspiring Kanungu Woman MP Majambere Launches Initiative to Give Mattresses to Top PLE Performers
KANUNGU: Aspiring Woman MP for Kanungu, Counsel Esther Majambere, has launched an initiative to reward pupils who excelled in the 2024 UNEB exams.
She plans to give brand new mattresses to all candidates who scored first grades, aiming to motivate young scholars to continue striving for academic excellence.
Majambere confirmed that her gesture is designed to recognize the hard work and dedication of these students, inspiring a culture of excellence and empowering the next generation of leaders.
“I will be distributing mattresses to all the best performers in the recent PLE exams across Kanungu District. This initiative is about motivating young ones to keep working tirelessly, as we need them well-equipped with knowledge for the future.” Said Esther Majambere.
As Some view this initiative as a political move, but Esther emphasized that it’s for the good of the community.
Her announcement follows the official release of the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Hon. Janet Kataaha Museveni.
The 2024 PLE results saw a significant increase in registrations, with 797,444 candidates from 14,883 centers participating, compared to 749,347 in 2023.
Of these, 524,025 (65.7%) were Universal Primary Education (UPE) beneficiaries, while 273,419 (34.3%) were from non-UPE schools.
