Another ADF Rebel together with an ADF outfit’s medic Killed by peace keeping forces in DRC.
CONGO: The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), in its joint operation with the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC), put out of action an Allied Democratic Forces commander and the outfit’s medic known as ‘Dr’ Musa.
The Public Relation Officer of the UPDF Mountain Division/Operation Shujaa Major Bilal Katamba, conformed to this reporter that the two were attacked and killed Monday by a joint mobile squad forces under the 83 battalion of the UPDF at Mugulumugulu near Tokomeka, 30km Northwest of Kainama.
Maj. Bilal Katamba added that in the operation, they recovered one Sub Machine Gun (SMG) and one Radio call (walkie-talkie), and that the tactical efforts to locate, fix and neutralize other group members still at large by the joint troops continue.
“Dr’ Musa was killed in action by a joint mobile squad force under the 83 battalion of the UPDF at Mugulumugulu near Tokomeka, 30km Northwest of Kainama. Dr. Musa, is of Rwandan origin at the time of his death, was operating closely with another notorious ADF commander called Muhammad Luminsa ” said Maj. Bilal Katamba.
According to the UPDF Mountain Division/Operation Shujaa PRO, the ADF label group has intensified the implanting of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) saying that the joint forces’ technical explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) teams are handling the IED threats.
He emphasized the forces commitment to continue aggressively pursuing the ADF remnants in their scattered hideouts in all four sectors of the operation.
