Unidentified Goat Thief Lynched by Mob in Rukiga.

RUKIGA: The police in Rukiga are investigating circumstances under which an unidentified male adult was allegedly lynched by mob.
According to the Kigezi Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, it’s alleged that in the night on Thursday the deceased went to the home of one Niwamanya Benjamin armed with a panga, and stole a goat.
He was sighted when pulling a stolen goat by people who made an alarm and the local residents surrounded him and he was killed.
Maate said that the police were accordingly notified, the scene was visited and documented, the body was conveyed to Kabale hospital mortuary for postmortem with the stolen goat found at the scene together with the deceased’s panga and three sticks of super sport cigarettes.
The Police Spokesperson described the deceased dressed in a black jacket , a black trouser and open shoes (flats) thus calling upon those missing their dear one to visit the hospital mortuary so that is identified and taken for a decent burial.
Maate added that the inquiries are underway and anyone who will be found to have been involved in this act, will be brought to book and answer charges of murder with the case registered at Rukiga Central Police Station on CRB 231/2024.
