Among Calls for Self-Reliance Among African Nations

Kampala, Uganda – The Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among, has underscored the crucial need for a unified African voice in tackling the continent’s pressing challenges.
This emphasis came during a meeting with a delegation from Zambia, led by Rt. Hon. Nelly Butete Kashumba Mutti, Speaker of the Parliament of Zambia, at the Parliamentary office Chamber on Monday this week.

Among and Mutti led discussions centered on bolstering collaboration among African legislatures, with a focus on promoting peace and stability, particularly in conflict-ridden areas like the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Ugandan Speaker also stressed the importance of self-reliance, urging African nations to rely less on foreign aid.
“A unified African voice is crucial in tackling the continent’s pressing challenges. We must work together to address our issues, rather than relying on foreign aid,” Speaker Among said.

The meeting marks a significant step towards fostering greater cooperation among African nations, as they work together to address shared challenges and promote regional stability.
