A suspected witchdoctor was intercepted in Rubaya-Kabale with a bag full of Human skulls, Bones and Pieces of People’s Photos.
KABALE: An elder identified as Joab Ahimbisibwe a resident of Nyarwizi, in Kakoba Mbarara City was on Tuesday intercepted by angry residents of Rubaya Sub-County in Kabale District after suspecting him of being a witch doctor.
Its alleged that Ahimbisibwe while on his way to the home of Jackson Beringyira, a resident of Kagasha village in Butenga Parish, met residents who became suspicious on Ahimbisibwe being a stranger in the area, asked him of his residence and What he was upto.
In the process residents grabbed the bag of Ahimbisibwe and a Smart phone, to their surprise discovered human skulls, bones, horns and pieces of people’s photos packed in the bag.
In between an interrogation process a one Beringyira came with cash and asked the people to abandon the suspected witch with Ahimbisibwe pointing at him saying that he (Beringyira) invited him to come.
Angry residents told this reporter that the suspect is alleged to have been behind the challenges the community of Kitooma and Rwanyena have faced with his witchcraft services for over 24 years since the year 2000.
The area LC II Chairman Gordon Tukacungurwa confirmed to this reporter that residents of Burimba and Butenga have been accusing Jackson Beringyira of witchcraft where people have been dying in understandable ways.
The Chairperson added that after the suspect was intercepted, residents were violent to kill him along with Beringyira but were rescued and handed to Ryakarimira Police Post officials with exhibits for further management.
