A Student of Mbarara Secondary School drowns in a Beach, the search for the body ongoing as investigation to determine the cause of drowning at hand by Police.
MBARARA: Police in Mbarara city are investigating circumstances under which a student of Mbarara Secondary School drowned at Katete Beach in Mbarara City.
According to the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson SP Samson Kasasira, the deceased has been identified as Jordan Balimwiagu 17 residing in Kiswahili Cell, Kakoba Ward.
It is alleged that the incident occurred at 11:57 PM on Yesterday Monday while the Deceased (Balimwiagu) had gone swimming at the beach.
SP Samson said that the officers from the fire department were today Morning notified, who in turn responded to the scene and mounted a search for the deceased’s but all in vain.
Kasasira added that the search operation will continue as investigations to determine the circumstances leading to the drowning are also at hand.
